Chamelaucium plants are a genus of woody evergreen shrubs native to Australia, belonging to the family Myrtaceae, subfamily Myrtoideae. They are also known as waxflowers, Geraldton wax or Australian waxflower. They have tiny to medium-sized, opposite, aromatic leaves that contain oil glands and give off a pleasant aroma when crushed. They produce showy, five-petalled flowers that have a wax-like feel and come in various shades of pink, white or purple. They bloom non-stop and are popular for their long-lasting and fragrant cut flowers, as well as their drought-tolerance and attractiveness to pollinators.
