As it matures, Cordyline 'Red Chocolate' develops a chocolate-red colouration. It produces a single trunk along with several stouts, ascending branches. For example, Cordyline 'Red Chocolate' is ideal for specimen plantings, large pots, and contemporary gardens. Cordylines are excellent architectural plants around pools and in garden beds. Red Chocolate grows best in full sun to light shade; it is water-wise and will tolerate most well-drained soils, coastal conditions, as well as dry conditions. Cordyline 'Red Chocolate' is relatively low maintenance and easy to grow under all conditions. Water regularly until established and during extremely dry periods. Taking out spent flowers and fertilizing with a long-term fertilizer should be done every year.

The Red Cabbage Tree is an ideal plant for a beginner or easy-going plant to add to your collection.
