Kensington Pride The most widely used and commercially farmed mango in Australia is the Bowen, commonly known as a mango. a lovely evergreen tree in the tropics with a thick canopy of long, narrow green leaves. tiny, fragrant clusters of pink or yellow blooms bloom in the winter and spring. Typically, the delectable mango fruit reaches full maturity in March or April. Fruit starts out green and turns bright yellow with a red flush as it ripens. When the tree is not actively growing, plant in late winter or early spring. Mango trees have strong roots and can withstand most soil types, but they do need well-drained soils. Plant in full sun with frost protection. Once they are established, mature trees can withstand brief frosts. Young trees need to be watered often and fertilised with nitrogen three times a year. Mulch thoroughly.
